  1. “Let the Spring Breeze Enter”: Haiku Writing Workshop: Saturday, April 18th, 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.Ezra Pound has described poetry as “condensed language.” At seventeen or less sounds, the haiku is the most condensed poetic form. Workshop participants will receive a complete immersion into the world of haiku and an overview of the structure and sensibility of writing haiku from making initial observations, evoking inspiration, structuring, and completing traditional style haiku. The workshop facilitator will provide an overview of content, structure and style for individual and linked haiku styles that contribute to a successful English language haiku. Participants will explore the potential layers of meaning and emotion along with philosophical and spiritual implications that are condensed into these terse, brief, concise, evocative simple poems.About the Facilitator Seiso Paul Cooper, Sensei is the author of books, articles and poems. His poems have been published internationally and translated into Japanese, Russian, Hungarian and Italian. His recently published collection of haiku Still Standing: Three Stones Haiku has been highly praised. As an internationally acknowledged Zen teacher and psychoanalyst he is an experienced workshop facilitator and master teacher.
